Here are some of my favorite sites with information about the Whole-Food Plant-Based lifestyle:

Dr. John McDougall (be sure to visit the forums section, the central gathering place of the movement!)

Forks Over Knives – The film that is changing lives (including this one!)

Julieanna Hever – The Plant-Based Dietician. Informative, smart, and enthusiastic. Author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition.

Chef AJ – The 60+ “The Chef & The Dietician” (Chef AJ & Julieanna Hever) recipe youtube videos are outstanding. Videos and the book Unprocessed highly recommended!

Engine 2 Diet – I wish that Rip Esselstyn (son of Caldwell) would have called his program something other than a ‘diet’ – it’s not a ‘diet’ in the Western sense of the word, but a lifestyle change. Regardless, Rip’s version of the lifestyle is definitely geared towards the manly-man and athletes. Big, hearty meals. Real men eat plants!

VegSource – Great source for articles and videos from the movement. Also the organizers of the annual Healthy Lifestyle Expo in Los Angeles (which we’ll be attending for the first time this Fall!)

Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (you may have heard of him – he’s Bill Clinton’s doctor, responsible for the former President’s change to a Vegan diet.)

Dr. T. Colin Campbell – The father of Whole-Food Plant-Based nutrition, and author of The China Study

Dr. Jeff Novick – a nutritionist and a truly fun character to watch. He has a series of DVDs (all for sale at VegSource) on how to shop, how to eat, how to cook, etc. He also maintains his own discussion board on the McDougall forum.

PCRM – The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

Happy Cow – Great resource for finding vegan and vegetarian restaurants around the world.

Happy Herbivore – Great resource for low-fat vegan recipes.
